What is Green Dentistry?

Green Dentistry is practicing dentistry in a sustainable approach that not only focuses on reducing environmental impact but also promotes conservation and use of the latest technology.

Our Office Features:

• We are a mercury-free office.
• All of our composite restorations are BPA-free.
• Special filtration systems to allow environmentally sound disposal of old mercury fillings, to prevent pollution to our water systems.
• We use digital imaging (no traditional x-rays) which means approximately 90% less radiation to our patients and no toxic X-ray development chemicals.
• Use of steam-based, surgical-grade instrument sterilization, which does not contain any harmful chemicals and reduces water use.
• We strive to be a paper-free office. We use a paperless charting system and e-file all dental claim forms to reduce paper use. 
• When needed, recycled paper products and other recyclable office supplies are used in our office. 
• Use of recycled and recyclable  patient bags.
• Careful selection of clinical products that share our sustainable/green approach. For example: GreenGauze, an organic cotton gauze that biodegrades quicker than traditional gauze. Additionally, a portion of the proceeds support ChariTree, a charity that educates children about the environment and supports tree planting projects.
